The Walnut Creek Marauders are part of the Diablo Valley Youth Football Conference. This division represents 18 cities across Contra Costa, Solano, Napa and Alameda counties. The purpose of the Diablo Valley Youth Football Conference is to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed, national origin, or sex, to participate in the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness. Players DO NOT have to reside in Walnut Creek to play for the Marauders.
The Marauder tackle football program is led by trained volunteer coaches who strive for the personal and athletic growth of each athlete. Physical development, team unity, and football skill development are emphasized. With overall player safety in mind, players are placed on teams appropriate to their age and size. All players at every level must play a minimum number of plays during every game. Depending on the size of the team, the minimum number could be eight to twelve plays.
The Marauders stress play for all players, not just a chosen few; however, the Marauders are a competitive football team and the players that can make a larger contribution will generally play more.
